Spring

Spring lawn treatments

In Spring the lawn needs lost nutrients replenished. The most crucial nutrient at this time of the year is Nitrogen. We take great care not to apply excess Nitrogen as this can leach into groundwater and cause leaching and 'run-off' - eutrophication. Eutrophication is a process whereby the environment becomes enriched with nutrients increasing the amount of plant and algae growth to estuaries and coastal waters.  We explain more on this in our environmental ethos section.

The Spring treatment also incorporates our soil conditioner and weed treatment.

We offer a specialist soil test analysis and if you have this, it enables us to be exact with our application of nutrients and the reports, which you will receive, allow you to identify change and evaluate progress.
The organic fertilisers we use are designed and applied in such a way that the soil and the plant use all of the Nitrogen and other nutrients and the plant reflects this in slow and sustainable growth. High Nitrogen, synthetic fertilisers promotes unnaturally rapid upwards growth and can cause long-term health problems for the plant and the soil, resulting in high risk of leaching and 'run-off' pollution. We will not use these fertilisers.
